We’ve all had that terrible feeling of forgetting to eat before a workout and feeling weak or queasy in the middle. Or the feeling we’ve eaten too much and gotten stomach pains. What you eat before exercise has an immense impact on your workout.
Scientists advise it’s best to eat a hearty meal of carbohydrates, healthy fats and protein 2-3 hours before a workout so that you can digest it in time and still reap its benefits.
But if you don’t have the luxury of time, it’s best to have a smaller snack rich with carbs and/or protein 30-45 minutes before.
Regardless of time restraints, you should always fuel up the right way to get the most out of your workout!
