This week we are shining a light on CrossFit newbie, Martika, a DJ and ItWorks girl from Medford. Martika is one of Michelle’s daughters, from last week’s Spotlight! She is 25 and has only been doing CrossFit for 6 weeks, but has already completed the Couch to CrossFit program with her mother and sister! Martika is such a positive person; her favorite quote, straight from Dr. Seuss himself, is, “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.” What a great attitude to have!

Q: Describe your biggest milestone, achievement, or “A-Ha” moment.
A: Doing the mountain climbers on the box and realizing “aha” I’m not flexible or inshape

Q: What is your favorite CrossFit workout? Favorite exercise/skill?
A: Squats

Q: If there were any CrossFit movement you could choose never to do again, what would it be?
A: Burpees

A: Squats, deadlifts, and sleds

A: Pizza

A: In better shape to set-up heavy DJ equipment and helps me de-stress
